A stunning gender-swapped cosplay of Mystique helps to illustrate what makes the character such a compelling one, and looks amazing to boot.
Mystique is one of the X-Men’s greatest foes, and a new cosplay has flipped the script by turning her iconic design into a gender-swapped suit cosplay that perfectly represents the mutant villain. Moreover, the design is also perfectly in keeping with Mystique’s own complicated relationship to gender and what the term even means to a shapeshifter.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The creativity on display in GRC’s work is a perfect tribute to this original design by Dave Cockrum, which has remained shockingly consistent for decades. GRC credits @jonathan_w_cabrera for the photography of the cosplay, and Naylor Nursery Skulls for the skull pin. This gender-bent cosplay is a perfect representation of Mystique herself, sleek and showy, with a playfulness that belies her true cunning.
