Residents in Yarn Street have complained of a loud humming noise keeping them awake
Residents in a Leeds street have hit out at a loud humming noise that is keeping them awake at night.
The residential street sits behind an industrial estate home to factories, a coach park and car garages with lots of lorries and traffic passing through every day and night. But behind the bustling industrial units lies the quiet Yarn Street where rows of terraced houses, housing families sit - but it's not all as pleasant as it may seem.
The family have lived in Yarn Street for six months and have said they have heard it every night since moving to the area. The dad added: "Its irritating, waking me up every night. All the houses on our row hear it." "We have noise cancellation headphones to sleep with, it’s the only way you can drown it out. Its been keeping us up at night since we moved in, it's quite annoying. It keeps us up at night and we can’t sleep properly, we know we are living in an industrial area but you don’t expect noise to start at 10pm until 3am every night and keep you awake."
Another resident of Yarn Street also said: "We’ve heard people complaining about it but, we’ve never heard anything so we think it must be affecting the other side of the estate."
