We chat with TheWitcher stars MyAnna Buring & Therica Wilson Read about Aretuza's divided loyalties, and Tissaia de Vries and Sabrina Glevissig's fates in season 3:
The Witcher season 3, part 1 just released on Netflix and has the mage stronghold of Aretuza as part of its main focus. When Geralt and Yennefer need to hide Ciri from the various forces after her, they return to the Brotherhood despite knowing someone there is an enemy. Thankfully, they can count on an alliance with Tissaia even if she and Yennefer don't always see eye to eye.
MyAnna Buring: Basically, the relationship in season 1 is like that between a child and a mother. In season 2, like a mother and a teenager. And now this is a mother and a grown woman who herself has become a mother of sorts, so it's different. I think it takes them both by surprise, and they're very sort of touching scenes.
Therica Wilson Read: She is back with a vengeance. I think she's feeling so confident. I think this is a Sabrina like you've probably not seen her before. She's the most confident. She's fiery, she's provocative, she's on fire. She can be very cutting sometimes. You also see the rivalry between her and Yennefer coming to a head. You see Sabrina like you've never seen her before and it's so exciting to play.
If it works out or not, that is a different story, but I think that's very much [the point of] that allegiance with Vilgefortz. And that connection with Vilgefortz is very important to her.
