Nascent airline MYAirline has announced a shakeup in its leadership less than a year after its launch. The company revealed in a statement that its CEO Rayner
Teo is stepping down from his position due to unspecified health reasons. He has been at the helm since the carrier's inception back in November 2020.
The Board of Directors of the company said, 'We extend our deepest gratitude to Rayner for his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to MYAirline. We wholeheartedly support Rayner’s decision to prioritize his health and well-being.' Before MYAirline, Teo worked for almost a decade for the International Air Transport Association and then spent 15 years at AirAsia. He also had a stint with Thai VietJet Air.
The budget carrier began operations last November, offering low-cost flights to select domestic destinations. Earlier this year, it unveiled Bangkok as its first international route. Teo previously said that MYAirline would eventually start offering flights to Alor Setar and Terengganu, but so far, these routes have not been launched.
