Jon Fowler attended the iconic Aintree Racecourse concert in 1988
A man was asked to go on stage to dance with Michael Jackson at his iconic Aintree Racecourse concert.
Around 125,000 people attended the once in a lifetime gig - which was 35 years ago today - but Jon took one step closer to the King of Pop when he was asked to go on stage.Speaking to the ECHO, the 43-year-old said: "My mum took me for my ninth birthday. I remember getting a t-shirt at Birkenhead Market from the shop which is still there today.
After enjoying the gig, Jon and his mum went to look for some food when they were approached by MJ's security team asking if the then nine-year-old wanted to join Michael on stage for his final song - however it did take some convincing. After agreeing to his mum's deal, Jon was taken around the stage where he remembers a "sea of cables". He added: "It was unbelievable. I was staring at thousands of people who were staring back at me. It was incredible."
