Wynonna Judd is taking her new title as the People's Choice Country Awards' Country Champion seriously, fighting for her fellow country colleagues. Recently, the star took to Instagram to defend country Kelsea Ballerini and set the record straight about fans' lip-syncing allegations.
As many country fans know, at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards, Kelsea performed her song 'Mountain with a View' at the Grand Ole Opry. The awards show was broadcast live on NBC, where fans saw a different picture than audience members. Due to a camera mishap, Kelsea's vocals seemed out of sync with the picture on screen for viewers. This resulted in many accusing her of lip syncing. Considering Wynonna had a pretty good seat in the crowd, she was quick to come to Kelsea's defense. '*Puts champion hat on* I had the pleasure of watching listening to this woman sing LIVE at dress rehearsal and LIVE at the PCCA's. The end. 🎤,' she wrote on her Instagram story. Kelsea reposted the snap saying, 'the queen has spoken. thank you my champion.'After the show premiered, Kelsea attempted to shut down the allegations immediately on her social media. 'I just want to say, if I was lip syncing, I would've sounded a lot better. One of the cameras was off. Thank you. And goodnight,' Kelsea wrote on her Instagram story. Of course, this sentiment coming from Wynonna carries a lot more weight than Kelsea could on her own. Wynonna truly is a country champion, fighting for others even when it doesn't benefit herself.
