Caitlin Clark showed again why she’s among the most exciting players in the nation, but Iowa didn’t suddenly leapfrog the Hoosiers on the ballot.
The regular season is just about done across the country. But man, what a finish we got.to the top-six matchup between No. 2 Indiana and No. 6 Iowa, please go. Caitlin Clark may be the most exciting college basketball player — men’s or women’s — I can remember since local star Sabrina Ionescu, or maybe even Stephen Curry before that.
The ACC saw Notre Dame potentially lose its best player, Olivia Miles, to an injury. It didn’t look good, but the Irish came from behind to win without her in the second half — and, thanks to North Carolina’s road upset of Duke in a defensive slugfest, won the regular season title because of the comeback.
Locally, the Pac-12’s final weekend delivered so many fun games, with Stanford needing double overtime to beat Colorado on Thursday before Utah handed the Cardinal a loss on Saturday. UCLA suffered an upset loss. Arizona suffered two. Four of the top conferences — ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC — are done with their regular seasons now and will have their conference tournaments this week. If you want to know where I’ll be this upcoming Sunday, I’ll be glued to my couch, watching all of those conference championship games.
