If you want to be an anti-racist, every day you wake up and you act like one—you break white silence, you support racial justice work, you work with other people, you move resources. You understand how we’re all being destroyed by racism, and you have a commitment and passion for justice.
Being an anti-racist is hard work, and it can be painful. I’ve had to sit with the discomfort of my ignorance and ego that have kept me from recognizing the racial disparities that were there all along. I’ve had to feel the pain of white supremacy culture and realize how much it keeps me from expressing my true self.
