Consider the political leadership in this province today: a woman as deputy premier , a woman representing the third party and a woman representing the Opposition .Haverstock was actually the first woman in that role, but never got to sit in the assembly in that role because she was deposed by her largely male caucus — most of whom would soon leave the Liberals to help form the Saskatchewan Party.
It’s an old pattern in politics here, and it affects daily decisions made on economic, health and social issues.
