Kirk McIntyre, 54, was caught on CCTV going into the cell belonging to Scott Fowler at HMP Shotts, Lanarkshire.
Fowler told jurors he had been hallucinating before he attacked McIntyre because he had taken illegal highs and was injured after falling and hitting his head on the concrete cell floor.But the jury took less than an hour to convict McIntyre of assault to severe injury in August 2020 following a two-day trial.
