UPDATED. BARMM interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim warns that MILF members who will not vote for the United Bangsamoro Justice Party's bets in Maguindanao and Cotabato risk getting suspended.
GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines – The Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Thursday, March 31, made it mandatory for its members to vote for its local candidates in the May elections.
The BARMM leader immediately drew flak on social media with netizens criticizing him for the “undemocratic” policy. A prominent candidate during the UBJP rally was Maguindanao 2nd District Representative Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu who is running for Maguindanao governor. Ebrahim said the UBJP is behind Toto Mangudadatu, the principal author of the law that extended the life of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority until 2025.
