Schools are closing from tomorrow due to the coronavirus pandemic which means, for many of us, we will have our little ones back with us throughout the day.
Adults cooped up all day is one thing, but kids need to be entertained or they'll start to go feral. Luckily for us, Vicky Blyde, a parent from the UK, has come up with a great list of activities to help those families stuck at home.Sharing the list on Facebook, Vicky wrote: “I’ve been stuck inside ill for the last couple of weeks.
“As more and more schools are closing and I see more of my friends are self-isolating with their families, I hope this list is helpful to some of you!”1. Read to them This was number one on the list, whereas number two is ‘Get them to read to you’. Evidence suggests that children who read for fun every day perform better in reading tests than those that don’t.
3. Den building Although this can be a bit untidy, building a den provides hours of entertainment. You can use sheets, chairs, close pegs and pillows, or whatever you have around the house. Not only is the building of it a fun exercise, but kids can sit and play in it afterwards.
