'We want to make sure she has the best life she can and lives the longest she can'

A Nottingham man says he and his family have been on a "whirlwind rollercoaster of emotion" after problems with his wife's speech led to a terminal diagnosis. Wendy Marsden, 49, was told over the weekend that her brain tumour meant she had just 18 months to live.

Wendy, originally from Livingstone in Scotland, showed no other symptoms of the brain tumour, her husband said. "The only symptom she had was losing her words, mid-sentence she'd just stop because she would forget what word she wanted to say," added the stockbroker admin worker. Upon learning Wendy would likely have between 14 and 18 months to live, Ian said they both "broke down". He added: "It was emotional, we both broke down. I asked her three times and she said yes each time.

Wendy has been left unable to speak, only being able to communicate 'yes' and 'no', but her husband said that was the only sign something is wrong with her. "She looks exactly the same as she did before all this," he said.
