Kelly Rushton lost baby Reggie when he was six weeks and four days old
A mum-of-five burst into tears after winning more than £90,000 as she described it as a gift from her late baby son. Kelly Rushton lost baby Reggie to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, aged six weeks and four days.
It was a touching moment for the former care home worker, who was left heartbroken by the tragedy in December 2012. She shared the £1m jackpot with eight neighbours after SK14 4PU was revealed as the winner of Postcode Lottery’s weekly Millionaire Street £1m prize on Saturday. “This has absolutely made my dreams come true. I wanted to buy this house so bad, so bad. Now my kids can have something for when I’m not here any more.”
They were planning to return immediately to the holiday park to break the news to Kelly’s kids, including eldest daughter Cobie who is expecting a boy on Christmas Day. Kelly said: “I thought it was going to be £1,001 and that would do Christmas. Anthony said: “We’re going to New York in November, and I was going to propose at the bottom of the Rockefeller Centre Christmas tree. But at least I know what her answer will be now!”
