Police are investigating after a man was shot and a woman was carjacked in Seattle's South Beacon Hill neighborhood Saturday evening.

When officers arrived at the scene, the found a 47-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The SPD said a woman in her 50s was also carjacked and had other items stolen at the same shooting location. The department said the woman was carjacked by “one of the suspects involved in the shooting.” Residents who live near where Saturday’s shooting and carjacking happen taken pride in their neighborhood, and many of them have lived in the area for decades. Neighbors who spoke with KOMO News were visibly upset about the shooting and carjacking, and said it happened in front of a day care.
“My wife heard a gunshot, she thought,” a neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous told KOMO News. “Then I came out a little bit after that and noticed all the police that were here.”
