Today's Alaska weather forecast from Alaska's Weather Source.

ANCHORAGE , AK - A series of storms through this week has already brought snowy and windy impacts, however even more winter weather is expected to continue through Thursday. Western Alaska remains the hot spot for these storm impacts as daily snow is forecasted to accumulate up to 10 inches in Nome by the time Thursday rolls in.

However, all through the Seward Peninsula and even stretching from Kotzebue down to Bethel, wintry storm impacts are likely. Wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour will span across the coastline with an inch of snow accumulating on Wednesday for Bethel. The same storm bringing impacts to the west will reach into the Aleutian chain bringing a scattered mixture of precipitation. Wind gusts across the island chain will reach 45 miles per hour in Cold Bay and 50 miles per hour in Saint Paul. High temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 40s across most of the region with lows near 40 degrees. Southeast impacts were making a subtle appearance early this week but stronger winds and even a wintry mix are moving through the region midweek. Gusts up to 60 miles per hour will impact Ketchikan and Sitka, with 30-35 mile per hour gusts in Petersburg and Juneau. Rain will remain in the forecast through this week as multiple frontal boundaries soak the region. These strong winds have prompted high wind warnings that will remain in effect until Wednesday afternoon. Among high wind, a winter storm warning remains active as 6-8 inches of heavy snow are projected to trail across the Haines Highway west towards Haines Customs.Interior Alaska into the North Slope will stay calm and dry on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies dominating the central and northern portion of the state. Warmer temperatures are still enjoy their time in Alaska with Fort Yukon near 30 degrees for Wednesday. Even into the Slope temperatures sit near 20 degrees which is 5 to 10 degrees warmer than what has been observed in the past week. Southcentral Alaska will remain mostly sunny across the eastern Kenai Peninsula up through Anchorage and into Mat-Su and northward, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour in the Valley. Some light snow and mixed precipitation will move across the Copper River Basin in the afternoon and into Thursday, with other wet impacts hitting Seward and Kodiak Wednesday evening. A wintery mix is likely across the region on Thursday, with some of the highest temperatures of the week taking place with it. 24/7 Alaska Weather: Get access to live radar, satellite, weather cameras, current conditions, and the latest weather forecast here.
