Early this morning, an active shooter situation occurred at the main gate of the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

– Security officials at JBSA-Chapman Training Annex in San Antonio exchanged gunfire with active shooters attempting to breach the main gate early this morning.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., individuals not believed to have any military affiliation attempted to gain entry at the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex.The main gate of the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex is currently closed while the incident is under investigation. Traffic is being redirected to a different entry point north on Ray Ellison Blvd. Local law enforcement agencies are also involved in the investigation and have responded outside the installation.
