Multiple people arrested during NYC protest over fatal chokehold of Jordan Neely
Neely was placed in a fatal chokehold by ex-Marine Daniel Penny, 24, after Neely was acting erratically and yelling at passengers aboard an uptown F train, according to police and witness accounts.Penny’s legal team said their client acted in self-defense, claiming Neely was threatening him and fellow riders. His lawyers also said he never intended to harm Neely.
Another protest on Saturday over Neely’s death descended into chaos with more than 10 people arrested.
