Columbus Alternative High School lifted its Level 2 lockdown just before noon following a threat about a possible shooting. Such a lockdown means students must remain in their classrooms until the property is searched, which Columbus police confirmed had been conducted.
That school has been cleared.Separately, Metro High School reported a bomb threat, but did not indicate if any kind of lockdown took place. "I want her out of there," said Bee Tolber when she arrived to pick up her granddaughter and was instead met with K9 and police presence, " just making me really anxious."Officials at Metro said they were considering the possibility that the threat was an attempt to disrupt ACT Testing Day on Wednesday. Tolber's granddaughter and many others unable to finish their college entrance exams, will need to retake them. At about 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a spokesman from Gahanna Lincoln High School alerted the media that the school was evacuated "out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students." Students were cleared to return to the building, but the spokesman didn't specify what kind of threat targeted the school. At Bexley High School, a threat was ruled "not credible" after about an hour of students being kept in their classrooms. A police K9 bomb dog swept the school and found nothing alarming."The FBI is aware of a number of hoax threats in Central and Southern Ohio. The FBI addresses these threats with the utmost seriousness, as they put innocent lives at risk and are a federal crime. While we have no information to indicate a credible threat, we are currently working with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to gather, share, and act upon threat information as soon as it comes to our attention. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity and/or individuals to law enforcement immediately."The U.S. women’s national soccer team is in Columbus on Wednesday for a SheBelieves Cup doubleheader at Lower.com Field, with the Americans set to face Canada iTWO SCHOOLS IN COLUMBUS were TARGETED BY THREATS Wedmesdau., at least one of which was about a gun.Few details were immediately available, but ABC 6 News confirOhio to stop allowing SNAP benefits to buy soda, sugary drinksKids with medical issues heal, grow and thrive at Flying Horse Farms
