The trailer gives us an insight into Mulan’s resilience in entering the all-male army. Images of Mulan wearing heavy armour, holding her sword up to fellow soldiers and shooting her bow and arrow flash across our computer screens. These images totally reignite our argument that Mulan is one of the most, if not the most, admirable Disney Princess, who does not fall ‘victim’ to her gender during the patriarchal society she lived in.
Liu Yifei, 30, is a Chinese actress, model and singer. She is also fluent in English after spending some of her childhood in New York.
