PETALING JAYA: It appears that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be defending his position as party president in the coming Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia polls, according to Bernama.
This means that Muhyiddin would be staying clear of confronting Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is expected to defend his position in the coming party polls as the Bersatu chairman. The upcoming Bersatu party polls are expected to be closely-watched, as observers are describing it as a battle between the factions of Muhyiddin and Dr Mahathir, following a fallout between the duo due to Bersatu’s exit from Pakatan Harapan.
However, in a confusing turn of events, Muhyiddin, on Feb 29, said Bersatu accepted its resignation despite asking Dr Mahathir to reconsider his resignation on Feb 27.
