In Mufasa: The Lion King, this connection to the past is severed, and the film replaces it with a narrative focused on Mufasa's personal struggles and his adopted brother, Taka, who later becomes Scar.The film also significantly alters the dynamic between Mufasa and Scar. In the original story, Scar is driven by a desire for power and a resentment of his brother. Mufasa: The Lion King attempts to create a more sympathetic Scar by portraying him as a once-good lion who feels betrayed by Mufasa.
