MTUC urges Putrajaya to protect workers hit by shutdown

PUTRAJAYA should protect workers during the movement-control period amid reports that some companies are refusing to pay employees during the two-week shutdown, said J. Solomon. The government must also move quickly to rein in the Malaysian Employers’ Federation , which is refusing to pay employees of companies shut down for the next two weeks, the Malaysian Trades Union Congress secretary-general said in a statement.
