MTN urgently wants to buy generators from small businesses, amid ‘aggressive rollout’

MTN has put out a call for any small businesses that can sell it generators to get in touch.

Any business that can sell it two or more generators can look forward to a"streamlined" vetting process before becoming a supplier.Amid another day of Stage 6 load shedding – and the prospect of more electricity rationing to come – the operator on Wednesday evening put out an open call for small-business suppliers.

"Despite us having placed thousands of batteries at our sites across the country, the efficacy of those batteries greatly reduces once we pass Stage 4 load shedding.," said MTN SA chief technology officer Michele Gamberini in a statement.
