An MTA bus driver had a terrifying ordeal on Friday morning when he lost control of the vehicle, skidded into a wall, and ended up hanging precariously off an overpass in the Bronx . According to city officials and video footage shared on social media, the incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. when the driver missed a turn and careened into a stone wall.
The bus came to a stop dangling over a roadway on the Henry Hudson Parkway and Kappock Street in Spuyten Duyvil, a scene that sent shockwaves through the community. Fortunately, no passengers were on board the BXM1 bus, which operates an express route to and from Manhattan, and the driver escaped unharmed. Authorities responded swiftly to the scene, eventually rescuing the driver from the precarious situation. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation
