MSNBC is one of the latest media outlets to completely warp what Sen. JD Vance said about the tragic school shooting at Apalachee High School, falsely asserting that Vance callously dismissed school shootings as a “fact of life.”
“And Kamala Harris immediately said after shooting, this is a choice we’re making, and we have to make a different choice. People don’t want this to be a fact of life,” she repeated.Brzezinski’s framing, however, is completely wrong. In fact, Vance explicitly said that he does not like that school shootings have become a “fact of life,” calling for increased security.
The AP later admitted their mistake, changing the headline to, “JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and calls for better security” while adding, “This post replaces an earlier post that was deleted to add context to the partial quote from Vance.”
