'They should call it The Biden Tunnel': Lawrence O'Donnell wants president honored for infrastructure project
should be named the “Biden Tunnel” — claiming that President-elect Donald Trump “is going to take credit for” it.
The project will include a new double-track tunnel between the Bergen Palisades in New Jersey and Manhattan as well as the rehabilitation of the North River Tunnel that was damaged by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. O’Donnell noted that “there has not been one additional lane added” to the Hudson River crossings that link New York City to New Jersey, including the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels as well as the George Washington Bridge — this despite the increase in vehicular traffic in the last 50 years.The Gateway Program is the $16.1 billion infrastructure project that will boost public transportation between New York City and New Jersey.
