MS Now’s revamped weekday lineup officially launches June 15 with new show titles, updated time slots and several familiar anchors.
is preparing a major refresh of its weekday programming, with new show titles, updated time slots, and a revamped daytime strategy arriving next month. The network is also moving away from thebranding that defined much of its MSNBC era, while giving bigger roles to familiar faces, including Stephanie Ruhle, Alicia Menendez, and Katy Tur.
The network confirmed that its new weekday schedule launches June 15. One of the biggest changes involves Stephanie Ruhle, whose new program, Money, Power, Politics with Stephanie Ruhle, will air from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET. The show replaces both the fourth hour of Morning Joe and Ana Cabrera’s daytime slot after Cabrera announced her exit from the network. Patrick McMenamin will executive produce the series (via MS Now is also changing its naming strategy.
Instead of relying heavily on the “Reports” label used during its MSNBC years, the network is giving programs more personality-focused titles. Alicia Menendez’s new noon ET show will be called On the Line with Alicia Menendez, while Katy Tur’s 2 p.m. ET program becomes The Moment with Katy Tur. Marti Hause will executive produce Menendez’s show, and Aaron Volkman remains attached to Tur’s program. The prime-time lineup is seeing adjustments, too.
Luke Russert is joining Symone Sanders Townsend and Michael Steele on The Weeknight, which airs at 7 p.m. ET from Washington, D.C. Kyle Griffin serves as executive producer.
Meanwhile, Ali Velshi will continue leading late-night coverage through The 11th Hour with Ali Velshi at 11 p.m. ET under executive producer Rebekah Dryden. Most of the network’s other programs will continue operating from New York. Weekend programming is expanding as well. Jacob Soboroff’s new show, Connect with Jacob Soboroff, premieres June 13 and airs Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.
The Los Angeles-based program will be executive-produced by Dina Moss. MS Now still has not announced a launch date for Peter Alexander’s upcoming 11 a.m. weekday show following his March departure from NBC News.
