A new MsMarvel clip shows Kamala Khan's father cosplaying as Hulk for an Avengers-themed party.😂
A new clip from Ms. Marvel shows Kamala Khan’s dad dressing up as the Hulk to attend a costume party themed with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s greatest heroes. Following Moon Knight, Marvel Studios’ next Disney+ series will introduce audiences to Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American teenager who struggles to fit in with her high school peers. That is, until she acquires a pair of cosmically powered bracelets that turn her into an MCU superhero.
Kamala Khan first appeared on the comic book page in 2013 and quickly became one of Marvel Comics’ most popular characters. The first Ms. Marvel trailer showcases the series’ main character and her obsession with superheroes. As the show’s title would suggest, Kamala is a Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel super-fan. However, this doesn’t mean she doesn’t hold the rest of the Avengers in high regard.
In the wake of Hawkeye’s new hero in Kate Bishop , Ms. Marvel will be the second Disney+ series to track a young person's journey from superfan to superhero. However, while Hawkeye was a Christmas romp that focused on its central Avengers, Ms. Marvel is a charming coming-of-age story with the MCU’s next generation at its nucleus. On top of that, where Steinfeld has been nominated for an Academy Awards and has been acting for years, Vellani is making her debut with Ms. Marvel.
Footage from the Ms. Marvel trailer confirms Kamala won’t have to wear her parents' makeshift Hulk suit and instead get to cosplay as Captain Marvel. It’s unclear if Brie Larson’s character will appear in the series. If she does, it’ll likely be at the very end, as Vellani stars in The Marvels next year. Ms. Marvel’s solo series can establish just how important Carol Danvers is to Kalama Khan’s identity before the two finally meet.
