Suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has been hit with her 38th legal loss, after the Constitutional Court dismissed her bid to defend her second invalidated report on Minister Pravin Gordhan, in failed litigation that has cost the public R15m.
Just a day after that victory in his protracted litigation over Mkhwebane's discredited SARS"Rogue Unit" investigation, Gordhan will ask the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria to invalidate the last of the Public Protector's investigations to focus on him.
The Public Protector's Office is not opposing Gordhan's legal action, which seeks to overturn Mkhwebane's investigation into a SA Revenue Services IT contract.
