The Manila Police District (MPD) announced on Sunday, May 7, the recovery of the P10.5-million worth of jewelry stolen from a shop in Sta. Cruz, Manila last Saturday, May 6. | ManilaBulletin

The MPD said the robbery suspects were the store's saleslady identified as Cheril Candidato, 39, and her live-in partner, Jeffrel Logronio, residents of Naic, Cavite.Patrick Oraa, 33, owner of the jewelry shop, said that the saleslady was claiming that a man wearing a helmet and an orange long-sleeved shirt pointed a gun at her and robbed the store.

Based on the closed-circuit television footage, the man was seen handing over to the saleslady a green eco bag which she filled with gold jewelry. The investigators became suspicious because it took the saleslady more than an hour to report the incident. The MPD said it deployed officers to go to her house in Naic, Cavite, where they found a .45-caliber pistol, the same helmet and orange shirt worn by the suspect, and the green eco bag containing jewelry.

Police immediately arrested the saleslady and her live-in partner. They will be charged with theft before the Manila Prosecutor's Office.
