I can’t help but share this quote by Pope Francis: “Rivers do not drink their own water; trees don’t eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other.
This year, MMFF is celebrating the theme “Sine-Sigla sa Singkwenta.” Life is good when you are happy, but much better when others are happy because of you.”
Something to look forward to is Repertory Philippines’ end-of-2024 offering, ‘Coming Home To Chrismas,’ a musical featuring the enchanting music of Jose Mari Chan. The long-running theater company moves to its new home, the REP Theater, in Eastwood, Quezon City in September.Murals based on posters of Filipino movies that made their mark on the Metro Manila Film Festival will soon adorn parts of EDSA.
My take at the press con which I articulated to Chairman Artes: Recreate the posters of films that won best picture awards at the MMFF. The murals featuring the films should be of equal size to avoid favoritism.MMDA and iAcademy signed a memorandum of understanding that assigns students to create murals honoring iconic films from the MMFF through the years. The murals, according to Artes, will create colorful and nostalgic art display along EDSA.
