PETALING JAYA: As the nation enters its first day of the restricted movement, checks are being conducted by the police on several food premises to ensure that everyone abides by the movement control order.

A police vehicle was spotted at the Phileo Damansara commercial area and two police officers were seen conducting checks on several eateries here.

A police officer, who spoke to The Star, said Malaysians who were caught eating in at restaurants could be hauled up and put in lockups and operators could be fined.
