Elsie Wiggington was killed more than a year ago, but police found her remains a few weeks ago.
Now, her family, friends and coworkers are coming together in hope of gaining some closure. They said they are glad they are finally getting some answers about Wiggington 's death.
Before authorities found Wiggington's remains, her loved ones held onto the fact that she had a great career and children and grandchildren she loved. They knew she would not leave it all behind. "The memories I have of her is that if I ever needed anything, I could call her," said James Knight, Wiggington's brother.Wiggington told loved ones she feared for her life and was planning to leave town. They never heard from her again.Tonight is a reminder of what too many of our families, our children, or friends face every day. Domestic violence is not just an issue. It's an epidemic," Amy Mclvor, a manager with the YWCA Domestic Violence Prevention Program, said.
