Mid-day blaze sparked by outdoor burning grew to about 15 acres.
A mid-day brush fire that swept across 10-plus acres of privately-owned mountainside spanning the Cumberland / York County line has been extinguished.
At the height of the blaze, smoke plumes rising off the mountain were visible to motorists on Route 15 several miles to the east. Czech said the fire crews were able to prevent the first from reaching any homes or structures and there were no injuries reported.
