Camden Catholic’s Athlete of the Year as a senior in 1962, Clifford was a First Team All-South Jersey tackle as the Irish went 9-0 in football, one of only three undefeated seasons in program history to this day. He was an ironman on the gridiron who played every minute of every quarter throughout his career on the freshman, JV and varsity squads, contributing as an offensive lineman, linebacker and a member of the special teams.
Given the prestigious Knute Rockne Award as one of the top high school football players in the country, Kondrla was also a highly accomplished sprinter and hurdler during track season, again under Coach Delaney. Patterson continued with all three sports at Trenton State College , earning three varsity letters in softball and two each in field hockey and basketball. Other athletes have had better statistics than Hallman, but those who coached and played alongside him at Camden Catholic know how valuable he was to each team that he played on. On the football field, the wide receiver/defensive back helped the Irish go 15-4 over his junior and senior seasons, in which he was named all-conference and All-Parochial. He was also a Third Team All-South Jersey selection as a junior and First Team All-South Jersey as a senior.

He received all-conference and All-Parochial honors in his final two seasons, and was named to the All-South Jersey third team as a junior and the first team as a senior. Bieg reached the 100-goal milestone in lacrosse and garnered All-South Jersey accolades in that sport as well. She was highly recruited by some of the top Division 1 programs in the country and went on to play both sports at Boston College.
Bieg planned on continuing both sports at the next level but ended up focusing on basketball at Lafayette College, where he again was a four-year starter at point guard. His best season came as a junior, when he averaged 8.1 points, dished out a career-high 90 assists and had 56 steals to make the All-Patriot League team. He helped Lafayette go 24-7 and win the league title to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Caputi, who finished fifth in her class academically, went on to Quinnipiac University to play basketball and study physical therapy. A captain her senior year, she scored 26 points on perfect shooting — 8-for-8 from the field, including 6-for-6 from behind the arc, and 4-for-4 from the foul line — to lead her team to a conference title and automatic NCAA bid.
As a sophomore, he totaled 470 points, 192 rebounds and 49 assists as Camden Catholic went 26-4, upset the No. 1 team in the state, Christian Brothers Academy, for the South Jersey title and went on to beat Seton Hall Prep for the program’s first state title since 1942. In basketball, he and his twin brother Eric starred on a pair of Non-Public A state championship teams in 2001 and 2003. Nick scored over 1,300 career points and received All-South Jersey recognition.
Gallagher followed three older siblings who were also standout athletes at Camden Catholic and created a lasting legacy of her own. She was a three-sport star, starting for all four years in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. The success continued for Junaid after graduation, as she moved on to Rutgers and became a key player for a team that reached the national championship game in her freshman season. She played four years for the Scarlet Knights, got chosen by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA Draft and played two seasons professionally overseas.
At Indiana, he had a memorable senior season in 2015, going 38-6 and reaching the 157-pound final at the NCAA Championships, settling for second place and All-American honors. A four-time NCAA qualifier, he went 132-37 overall and holds school records with 69 career pins and 26 pins in a season.A contributor throughout his career in both sports, Galliano was truly a difference maker as a senior, when he was named South Jersey Athlete of the Year.
