Michael Walley, 35, was less than a mile away from his home on his motorcycle, his sister said, when he was hit near the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and 118th Street last Friday.
She says they learned from the very beginning that safety was key. Walley’s sister said her brother always took safety seriously.
“That was the biggest rule. If you ride, you ride safe,” she said. “And I feel like even with that, he was still tragically killed.” Walley, 35, was less than a mile away from his home on his motorcycle, his sister said, when he was hit near the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and 118th Street last Friday.
Troopers said an SUV was turning left at the intersection, and the driver didn’t see Walley’s motorcycle approaching. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to FHP.“Motorcycles can’t stop like cars do, so he just slid underneath the car and it ran over him completely,” Walley’s sister said.“He wanted a wife, he wanted kids, he wanted, you know, like, the all-American dream,” Erica Walley said. “And I feel like that’s what he was living.
