Motorcycle rider suffers serious injuries in crash with pickup in Lincoln Park [Breaking]
A 31-year-old man riding a motorcycle suffered a collapsed lung, as well as femur and pelvic fractures, during a crash with a pickup Saturday in the Lincoln Park community of San Diego, authorities said.
The black 2009 Harley-Davidson bike was going south on Euclid Avenue near Imperial Avenue, as a black 2005 Dodge Ram truck was going north on Euclid Avenue. The pickup crossed into the left-turn lane for southbound traffic about 8:20 p.m., the San Diego Police Department said.“Anticipating a collision, the motorcyclist dropped his motorcycle on its right side, slid about 40 feet, and impacted the Dodge’s right side rocker panels,” Officer Robert Heims said in a statement.
The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital. It was not known whether the motorist driving the pickup, a 70-year-old man, suffered any injuries. San Diego police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
