According to the FDNY, the Mother’s Day blaze erupted inside of 3 East 109th St., a six-story apartment building located between Madison and 5th Avenues, at around 12:47 p.m. on May 12. The flames tore through the top floor and spread across the roof. Three civilians and one firefighter were injured Sunday afternoon during a 2-alarm blaze in Harlem, FDNY sources said.About 80 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to quell the fire. FDNY members could be seen knocking out windows on the top floor before climbing to the roof and pumping water into the charred exterior.
FDNY officials reported that the blaze was contained and extinguished by 2:16 p.m. However, they also state that 3 residents suffered minor injuries while one firefighter was also treated for a minor injury.Three civilians and one firefighter were injured Sunday afternoon during a 2-alarm blaze in Harlem, FDNY sources said.
