And I think it’s just important to emphasise that fact, that it was built out of necessity and it is just the most important thing I think I’ve ever done in my life.” One 18-year-old trans man who had been prescribed puberty blockers at a private clinic before moving on to gender affirming hormones said he was disappointed in how difficult it would be for younger people to access them. He sought help from a private clinic because of the long waiting lists at the Tavistock.
