MOT to develop online system to cancel vehicle registration
Deputy Transport Minister Hasbi Habibollah says the ministry is developing an online system to allow vehicle owners to cancel their vehicle registration that is hoped to resolve the issue of dumping defective and old vehicles. – MOT pic, March 29, 2023.
Its Deputy Minister, Hasbi Habibollah said the system is aimed at helping individuals who wish to dispose of old or damaged vehicles by canceling the registration without having to be present at the Road Transport Department counter. “Through this initiative it is hoped that the issue of dumping defective and old vehicles in the country can be resolved,” he said during a question and answer session at Dewan Rakyat today.
Hasbi said the MOT through the RTD is ready to cooperate with relevant government agencies to study the long-term plan to deal with environmental pollution due to abandoned vehicles.
