There still has not been a date set for when students will return to Apalachee High School, site of a deadly school shooting.
ATLANTA - Most students and teachers in Barrow County resumed classes on Tuesday following the shooting at Apalachee High School .“It’s bittersweet, you know, because this is still so fresh,” Faustino Ventura said. “It just happened a week ago, and there’s discomfort it could happen again, but life has to go on.”
Comfort dogs are planned for some campuses in Barrow County as students return to class after last week's deadly shooting at Apalachee High School.“They’re 14,15-year-olds, and they say, ‘With all of this going on, why is this happening to us?’ And it’s hard to say. We don’t have the answer to anything,” said Ventura.
“If you are not ready to return to school, we ask that you reach out to your school principal, let them know you are not ready and allow them to assist you with finding any resources that you may need,” said Superintendent Dallas LeDuff., including teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53, and students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14.
