Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says most of his party’s partners can’t reach net zero emissions “without” using nuclear energy.

“A part of the lessons I’m learning is all going into a process with my colleagues looking at the possibilities of a policy that will include nuclear energy. “But we haven’t drawn any conclusions yet, ultimately, we know the importance of a clean energy future to Australia – what we’ve learnt from overseas is that most of our partners are saying they can’t get to net zero without nuclear energy.”
