He was also declared unsuitable to work with children, and his name was added to the National Register for Sex Offenders. The court sentenced the man on Tuesday for raping his son on two separate occasions at their family home in Standerton in 2020."He took the victim to the bedroom and sexually violated him.The complainant informed his mother that he was bleeding when he was going to the toilet, and the mother thought that he got injured because he is a boy and he played rough.
The father was arrested and then pleaded not guilty, however, the State submitted evidence supported by a medical report that proved the boy sustained serious injuries during the first ordeal. In aggravation of sentence, prosecutor Grace Khoza told the court the man committed the most"horrific crime" and destroyed his trust with his only son.
The NPA welcomed the sentence, and Nyuswa said they hoped it would deter future offenders who preyed on women and children.
