PHOENIX — After a stormy Sunday afternoon, the chance for monsoon storms continues across Arizona this week.
Any storms that develop could produce gusty winds, blowing dust, dangerous lightning, small hail, downpours and flooding, especially along and near wildfire burn scars. So, stay weather-aware and never attempt to drive through flooded washes or roadways.Valley highs will continue to top out above average each day this week, with highs at or just above 110 degrees each afternoon.
Excessive Heat Warnings are also in effect for areas along the Lower Colorado River Valley through Friday night, including for areas like Yuma. Heat index values in those locations could top out between 115 and 120 degrees this week!
