Mossel Bay opens its first Gin school

on the Garden Route is putting South African Gin on the map, with the opening of its first Gin school. Gin lovers can brew their personalised concoction.Since its opening in March, tourists continue to flock to the venue. Spicy, sweet, dry or floral, it’s your choice.

The Gin school is located at Cafe Gannett in the heart of Mossel Bay. It’s run in conjunction with popular South African brand, Inverroche.The Gin school gives an opportunity for individuals to create their own unique fynbos flavour. Fynbos literally grows in the backyard of Southern Cape region.Inverroche distillery’s Ashley Smith says, “Talking about Gin and food pairing, it is interesting to see food that brings out the flavours of the Gin.

Tourism operators are hoping that the Gin school will help market South African Gin to overseas visitors and give them a taste of the unique experience.
