Congress man Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) has announced his intention to seek reelection and remain in the House of Representatives. Moskowitz, who previously served as the director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, was considered a potential candidate to head FEMA under the Trump administration. Despite his Democratic affiliation, Moskowitz has been outspoken in his criticism of his party's handling of antisemitism following the Israel-Hamas war.
He has also expressed interest in the concept of a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and became the first Democrat to join the House DOGE Caucus. Moskowitz stated his desire to continue serving the people of Florida's 23rd district and suggested reforming FEMA's role within the federal government
