JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The relocation of Jacksonville's Museum of Science & History is one step closer to becoming a reality.to build its future home on the Northbank. The fundraising goal was outlined in MOSH's development agreement with the City of Jacksonville.from CSX, a $5 million appropriation from the Florida 2024-2025 budget and a $2.5 million donation from VyStar Credit Union.
MOSH has been open at its current location at 1025 Museum Circle near Friendship Park on the Southbank since 1969. Developers say the museum has outgrown the 33,000-square-foot space and is looking to expand when it relocates across the river. MOSH said it plans for the new state-of-the-art museum to"significantly" expand its capacity to serve more visitors year-round, with approximately 130,000 square feet across three floors.
