Moses Moody drops 34 points but Jonathan Kuminga struggles mightily in 2022 Summer League debut
LAS VEGAS — Moses Moody scored a game-high 34 points Friday night in the Warriors’ 101-88 loss to the Knicks in their Las Vegas Summer League opener while Jonathan Kuminga struggled mightily in his 2022 summer debut.
“It’s also about how do we find the roles that JK can play for us next season for the Warriors and a lot of that is experimenting and doing things he might not do regularly for us, and we’re kind of playing with that right now seeing what works, what doesn’t work,” said assistant coach Jama Mahlalela, who’s overseeing the Warriors’ Summer League squd. “Over the course of the summer, we’ll see what fits to allow him to be the best for us with the Warriors.
Kuminga missed all four attempts from 3-point land and finished with four points and only two rebounds in 24 minutes. “Mac is a tremendous player. All of us got a good firsthand sense of that today,” Mahlalela said. “Seeing him play for us, we’re excited. His point-guard play, he can get to the rim better than I thought he could.”
