A tease regarding a major location in Mortal Kombat 2 goes to show that the sequel is fixing a big issue with its predecessor.

Mortal Kombat 2 is well into production, and producer Todd Garner has given a positive update that fixes a major Mortal Kombat 2021 problem. While the 2021 reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise wasn't a massive hit, it was a total-audience pleaser, as the video game movie delivered most of what was expected of it, such as Kano's hilarious one-liners, and the over-the-top R-rated violence. However, that's not to say that Mortal Kombat was without its shortcomings.

The Mortal Kombat movie franchise producer is extremely vocal on Twitter and very communicative with the fanbase, often making promises about what its sequel will have to offer. Now, Garner has revealed one thrilling location that will appear in the sequel: Shao Kahn's temple . He revealed this with a behind-the-scenes shot of one of the temple's dark corners.

However, the Mortal Kombat video game franchise is an unimaginably expansive universe full of creative realms, but the 2021 movie didn't take advantage of this at all.

Other Famous Game Settings Mortal Kombat 2 Could Use The Mortal Kombat video game franchise is full of surprisingly beautiful and lush locations, and even the grittier realms are rich with detail and fun to look at. In that respect, there are several more locations that can be used in Mortal Kombat 2, with the most obvious being Edenia, a realm based on the Garden of Eden.

Hell could also be an important Mortal Kombat 2 location. Hell goes by several different names in the video games, most notably Scorpion's Lair, and it's a playable area as well. One line from Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat hints that at least some of Mortal Kombat 2 will be set in hell, as he says at one point, "Today you have killed my warriors and you think you have won, but death is just another portal.
